Stay Connected.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 (KJV)

Bible Reading: John 15:1-17

The electronic gadgets such as computers, mobile phones, iPads etc that we use need to be charged for them to function. If you leave in a place where there is always interrupted supply of electricity and you don’t have other means to charge your gadgets, then you won’t be able to use them. Although your gadgets have the potential to be useful but they cannot be used unless charged. We are like that as Christians.

To be rooted in God and to be useful in His hands, there is a need to stay connected to Him. Like the gadgets described above, God is our Source and we need to stay connected to Him. Here’s how Jesus puts it: ‘Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing’ (John 15:4-5). From our Bible reading today, it is clear that staying connected and abiding in God is the only way to live for Him. Flesh will want to hinder our connection but we have to die to flesh, cling to Jesus Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to find expression in us. As we study God’s word, pray without ceasing and do according to His word, we will continue to encounter God in ways we have never. Our fire will never go out because we are connected to Life. Dear friend, seek God daily, let your desire for Him drive you to fellowship continually in His Presence and you will see yourself producing fruits that are pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord.

Daily Confession: I choose to continually abide in God.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for ministers of God for fresh unction to function. Also pray for members in your church that they will come to know Jesus individually.

Hymn: Knowing you Jesus,
Knowing you,
There is no greater thing
You’re my all
You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness
And I love you Lord.
