All is Well.

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10

Bible Reading: 1Kings 17:7-16

Today’s Bible reading is the story of Prophet Elijah’s encounter with the widow of Zarephath. Based on God’s instruction, Elijah was to stay in Cherith for a while after declaring to Ahab that there will not be rain for three years. As time went on, the brook dried up and Elijah would need God’s provision to survive while in Cherith. God asked Elijah to go to Zarephath that He has commanded a widow to feed the prophet in Zarephath. On getting there, Elijah met the woman gathering sticks to make a last meal for herself and her child. It had been a season of famine and draught that affected everyone in the land and this woman was destitute and had no one to help. This widow also had no source of income for herself and her only son, maybe she lost her job due to the famine. Her husband was dead and she was in a pitiable situation. However, despite this widow’s lack of physical treasures, she had one great thing, a submissive heart to do the will of God. God said to Elijah that He commanded the widow to feed him (vs 9).

God showed up for this woman by sending her a prophet, God sustained the widow and her son and they lived through the storm that was sweeping through the land. I have a good news for someone, all will be well with you in Jesus name. Even though many are desolate and afflicted by the situation of the world, only hold on to God and trust in Him. Your case will be different (Job 22:29). Verse 16 of today’s Bible reading says “And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah”. According to the word of the Lord, this shall be your testimony in Jesus name.
