I Can Do All Things
I can all things through Christ that strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:13
Are you overwhelmed with cares of life? Are you disturbed, confused and uncertain of what the future holds? Are you worried and heavy laden? I’ve got a place of rest for you. It is found in Jesus Christ. Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30 KJV. Apart from the fact that the world is battling with and trying to recover from the pandemic, there are challenges individuals are facing. Yet in the midst of this, you still have to respond to daily responsibilities and necessities at home, in the office, at school, in your place of work, and in the church etc.
Today’s exhortation is an encouragement: You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you! Apostle Paul’s declaration was in the context of the unpleasant daily realities he had to face— from shipwreck to hunger, affliction, tribulations, and suffering. Yet, he was confident that He could do all things through Christ that strengthens Him. He recognized that his ability is not of himself but of Christ. Apostle Paul looked beyond himself and put his faith in Jesus. He accessed grace and strength from God by the Holy Spirit. No wonder he prayed in Ephesians 3:13-16 KJV “Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man”.
Dear friends, anchor your faith on Jesus because in and through Him you are can do all things. You can finish that project, accomplish that vision, you can provide for your family, you can start that program, you can build that company… This is because God is at work in you by His Spirit in you to do and to will for His glory. Instead of condemning yourself, embrace God’s commendation, instead of beating yourself for the mistakes of the past, accept God’s love and forgiveness, instead of worrying, rest in Him both spiritually and physically, instead of fear, take on faith by the word of God, and and instead of doing things by your strength and power, deliberately your ways unto God for His blessings. At KSi, we encourage you to focus on Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith because “His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3 KJV).
Daily Confession: Heavenly Father I thank you for your grace and love. I choose to trust you in my situation and I believe that you will step into my situation for your glory in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Prayer for those who are homeless or about to be homeless for God’s intervention and provision.
Hymn: There shall be showers of blessings
This is the promise of God
There shall be season refreshing
Sent from the Saviour above
Showers of blessings,
Showers of blessings we need
Mercy drop ‘round us are falling
But for the shower we plead.
