A Resolved Mind (II)
But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile (taint, dishonour) himself with the king’s finest food or with the wine which the king drank; so he asked the commander of the officials that he might [be excused so that he would] not defile himself. Daniel 1:8 AMP
Bible Reading: Joshua 24:15
To conclude this series, I would like to emphasize the important of intentionality. Resolution is about being intentional about doing something. It is not a guess work, it is a deliberate effort to get something done or to do a certain thing. As children of God, there are certain things that are important we should be resolute about: resolve to live a life of holiness and righteousness, be intentional about your spiritual growth, invest in your walk with God, build capacity in every aspect of your life, live by faith, and choose to love God and live for Him. Like Joshua resolved in our reading today, choose to serve God — you and your household (Joshua 24:15).
Daily Confession: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
Intercessory prayer: Pray for divine help for those who are in need of God’s help in their marriage, finances and other areas of their lives.
Hymn: There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.
