Be Mindful
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11
Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-7
We are in the last days. Everything happening around the world shows that the end is here. Apostle Paul highlights the characteristics of the last days. First, he says, ‘in the last days, perilous [difficult] time shall come’ (2 Timothy 3:1). I don’t think it is an overstatement that the past one year has been a difficult and tough year globally. The global pandemic has stopped all of the world in its track. We know that there has been global pandemic outbreaks prior to Covid-19, however the impact of such pandemic were not as severe as COVID-19 for many reasons. Indeed, perilous time has come. There is persecution everywhere with unrighteousness reigning in our cities, governments, policies, schools and even churches etc. Apostle Paul’s warnings continue: “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (2 Timothy 3:2-5 KJV). Is any of these attributes in your life? Are you selfish, arrogant, rude, disrespectful, ungrateful etc? Dear friends, it is one thing to be in the last days, it is another thing to carry the features of the last days that God frowns against. What should be our attitude in the last days? “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life (Jude 1:20-21 KJV). “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen (Jude 1:24-25 KJV).
Daily Confession: God help me to stay focused on you in Jesus name, amen.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for those facing persecution due to their faith in Jesus Christ for God’s grace and strength.
Hymn: Stand up, stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high his royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From Victory unto victory
His army shall he lead,
Till every foe is vanished,
And Christ is Lord indeed
