Capacity for More II
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Jude’s, and in Samaria, and the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 (KVJ)
Bible Reading: Acts 6
Stephen was selected as one of the seven deacons to serve food for the neglected Grecian widows. He served faithfully. But there was more. He had the capacity for more because he was “full of faith and power, and did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8). Imagine someone that is cooking and serving food performing miracles. Perhaps people fell under the anointing as they ate his cooked meal or their diseases were healed as they perceived the aroma of his food. Maybe they were blessed as he spoke to people whenever they come to dine in his restaurant. Whatever way it manifested, God used Stephen mightily to bring forth the supernatural. This reality could only happen because Stephen was full of faith and the power of God. He was a faith-filled and power-filled man. He sought the Lord and he did not limit himself by thinking he was only serving food. In fact the wisdom and the spirit with which Stephen spoke was irresistable (Acts 6:10). Two lessons to draw out from this: no matter what you are doing, when God anoints you, the supernatural starts to take place. God begin to use the mundane things to show forth His glory. Don’t downplay whatever you are doing. Whether you are a business person, a civil servant, a student or a church cleaner, God can use whatever you are doing for His glory. Secondly, the capacity to do exploit for God is only possible when we are full of faith and power. By full, it means absolute reliance and dependence on Jesus Christ. Dear friends, are you tired of the level you are in God? Do you want to attain full capacity in God? Are you interested in doing more for God? Then seek God, tarry until you receive His the power. Resolve to love God and serve Him and be a blessing to His people.
Action Point: Desire more of God and express your appetite for more of God by seeking Him daily
