Proven Character (I)
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you. Galatians 4:19
Bible Reading: Galatians 5:22-26
The Christian faith journey starts when we got saved (Romans 10:9-13). Afterwards, we are called unto a life that is Christlike — a life of righteousness and holiness. Apostle Paul puts it this way: “I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20, AMP). Salvation is not the end, rather it is the beginning of an eternal transformation— a development of the new life in Jesus Christ. Through the growth process, we begin to understand what it means to be Christlike. We rely on the Holy Spirit to be dead to flesh and alive in Christ so that Christ can be formed in us. It is through the formation of the nature of Christ in us that we can truly be the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14). Our Bible reading today outlines the fruit of the spirit — the result of having Christ dwell in us richly. We are to show forth the glory of God through our characters. May God help us to truly be Christlike.
Daily Confession: My life produces fruit of the spirit in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Intercede for families having difficulty in different areas of life for God’s intervention.
Hymn: Lord lift me up and let me stand
By faith on heaven stable land
Higher plain that I am found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground.
