You Are Blessed (II)
And Moses said to them, “Have you allowed all the women to live? Look, these people, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the Israelites to act treacherously against the LORD in the matter of Peor—and there was the plague among the community of the LORD. Number 31:15-16
Bible Reading: Numbers 31”8-18
When God blesses you, no curse can hold sway over your life because God is sovereign. Prophet Jeremiah puts it this way: “Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has authorized and commanded it?” (Lamentation 3:37). As children of God, we have to live in the consciousness of God’s blessings over our lives because as we noted yesterday, we have a Heavenly Father who loves us without reservation (Jeremiah 29:11; John 3:16). The only person that can stand in the way of your blessing is yourself! Your alignment or de-alignment to God’s plan and purpose over your life will determine whether God’s blessings will come to pass in your live or not. In our Bible reading today, although Balaam could not curse the children of Israel, he advised Balak on what to do so that the Israelites can irritate God which will make God’s presence and blessings leave. Balaam knew that God is holy and He cannot behold iniquity (Leviticus 20:26; Romans 12:1). Like Apostle Paul wrote, Balaam knew that “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19 KJV). Thus, Balaam told King Balak how to get the Israelites to commit sin by enticing them with sexual immorality and food sacrificed to idols. The Israelites fell into transgression due to these traps and God sent a deadly plague to them as a result (Numbers 31:16). Dear friend, “shall we then continue in sin that grace may abound?” Apostle Paul replies, God forbid (Romans 6:2). God loves you and you are blessed of Him, don’t allow sin to take you away from God’s plan and purpose for your live. Choose to live in righteousness and holiness and you will see God’s blessings come to pass in your life.
Daily Confession: I am blessed in Jesus name. I choose to live in righteousness and holiness unto God. My life experience God’s exceeding greatness and blessings in every aspect of my life. Every curse is taken away because Jesus took the curse away on the cross of Calvary.
Intercessory prayer: Declare God’s blessings over your church, city and colleagues.
Hymn: Lord lift me up and let me stand
By faith on heaven stable land
Higher plain that I am found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground.
