A Heart of Worship (I)
‘…God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth’ (John 4:24, NIV)
Bible Reading: John 4:21-24
A heart like Jesus is my absolute desire. A heart that is full of compassion; a heart that is sanctified by the precious Blood of Jesus; a heart that is loving and that thirsts after righteousness. ‘Who can ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who can stand in his holy place?’  (Psalm 24:3) the psalmist asked. His response shows the content of a true worshiper – ‘ He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully’ (Psalm 24:4). It is my earnest heart cry for the Lord to continually cleanse my heart; purify me so that I can be a vessel unto honour, fit for the Master’s use, and for His glory.
Jesus’s heart was pure and attune with the Father. Jesus said ‘I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of the world (Satan) is coming. And he has no claim on Me [no power over Me nor anything that he can use against Me] (John 14:30). This is a bold declaration that should challenge us as followers of Jesus Christ. What makes a heart of true worship? Jesus Christ.
Dear friends, when Jesus comes into our heart and we submit to Him wholeheartedly to transform our life, we will be changed. Jesus is the Light that dispel darkness and as we continually behold Him, our lives are changed. This is how Apostle Paul puts it: ‘But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord’ (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Daily Confession: Lord Jesus make my heart right with You and help me to walk in the light of your word daily in Jesus name.
Intercessory Prayers: Intercede for God’s intervention in different countries that have been affected by wild fire.
Song: A heart like yours, is my desire
A heart like yours, is what I am searching for
Full of compassion, nothing wrong within
Please hear me Lord, give me a heart like yours
