Obedience (IV)
Although He was a Son [who had never been disobedient to the Father], He learned [active, special] obedience through what He suffered.
Bible Reading: Hebrew 5:7-9
Did you know that Jesus learnt obedience by the things he suffered? First, he obeyed his earthly parents even though he was God in human flesh. Perhaps he knew more than them and obviously he carried a divine assignment. However, he was not rude, disrespectful or pompous because of that. Rather he submitted himself to his earthly parents.
Furthermore, he obeyed his heavenly Father. Followed His Father’s instructions. Here’s how the Bible puts it: ‘Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does’ (John 5:19).
Dear friends, as we round up this series, I think it is important to look unto Jesus, our perfect example. He humbled Himself to death and obeyed His Father.
Daily Confession: My Heavenly Father help me to trust you and obey you no matter the cost.
Intercessory prayer: pray for individuals and families etc around you.
Hymn: Obedience is the very best way
To show that you believe
Doing exactly what the Lord command
Doing it happily

To show that you believe
