Rejoice in the Lord

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it”. Psalm 118:24[NKJV]

Bible Reading: Psalm 118

The new year has 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months. God is the maker of each day that make up the year because the earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1). Our attitude to this truth is to rejoice and be glad knowing that even though we may not know what is ahead, we know the Omnipotent, Omniscience and Omnipresent God.

Did you know it takes faith and hope to rejoice amidst pandemic and uncertainties? Our faith is in Jesus Christ. Hence, we do not walk by sight, but we walk by faith in Christ Jesus. Rejoicing is a choice. Rejoice that Jesus Christ loves you and He died to set you free. Rejoice in the fact that He is your Saviour, Emmanuel, deliverer, life, strength, provider, healer, comforter, and ultimately, the soon coming King.

Our Bible reading today reveals the benefit that we have when we trust Him absolutely. As you live through the new year, rejoice knowing that God is faithful to His word. He is a loving and a good Father. When in doubt, fear and trouble, run to Him. Learn to call unto Him both in good and bad times. And look unto Him for He is your Source. At KSi, we encourage you to go in the journey of this year with this confidence. Like Apostle Paul admonished, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” for from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things; and to Him be the glory forever! Amen (Romans 11:36).

Self-Reflection: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16, NKJV)

Action Point: Rejoice in the Lord as you sing hymns, psalms, and songs unto the Lord for the new year.

Intercessory prayer: Thank Him for the grace to intercede in prayers and for answered prayers.

Hymn:  All hail the power of Jesus name!

Let angels prostrate fall.

Bring forth the royal diadem,

And crown Him Lord of all.
