God’s Love

See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. I John 3:1 (AMP)

Bible Reading: 1 John 3:1-5

God’s love is profound and beyond our comprehension. We are blessed that we are His children. Continually, God displays His unending grace that gives us courage, strength and whatever we may need in every circumstance. Also, we find comfort and assurance in God’s word especially when we hear testimonies from other people about God’s faithfulness. Indeed, we cannot live without God’s love.

Our reading today tells us who we are in Christ. We are “His children and who we are going to be which is unknown to us and even the world and we know that we shall be like Him when He appears”. Isn’t that lovely? Each time I meditate on this, I leap for joy because I will be like Him!

The only obstacle is sin. That’s why the hope of who we are going to be when He appears should continually set us to cleanse ourselves from sin. Today, I invite you to take some minutes to meditate on God’s love that make you a joint heir with Christ and the privilege of being like Him when He appears. The thought of this should sober us even in our joy and drive us to get it right with Him.

Self-Reflection: And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless). I John 3:3
