Deal with your Adversaries (II)

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.1Cor 16:9

Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 4:14-18

Adversaries can serve as limitations, barriers and roadblocks on the highway to success. At times, when one is close to victory, the opposition may begin to surface. Oppositions can be in form of discouragements, depression, pressures of life or even the devil himself trying to steal one’s joy. How then can the children of God overcome each of these oppositions? First of all, you must know that your victory has been secured already in Christ Jesus‚ “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:57) and as a child of God, you have access to this victory in Christ Jesus. Secondly, you must crucify the flesh and not allow it to control you. The flesh manifests through the various works of the flesh highlighted in Gal 5:19-21 so you need to check yourself and ask God to help you take away any one of them in operation in your life. Those who live by the dictates of the flesh are not of God but of the devil and will end up in hell with him.

Again, the place of prayer cannot be overemphasized; “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” James 5:16, through prayer, seeks God’s help. Finally, God’s word is a weapon for your victory – read it, meditate on it and live by it (Joshua 1:8).

Daily Confession: My heavenly Father, according to your word, take away every barrier to effective soul winning in our churches today and let your word have free course in the hearts of men.

Intercessory prayer: I pray for healing for the sick and encouragement for the broken-hearted.
