Jesus Came for a Reason

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)

Bible Reading: Isaiah 9:1-7

The state of the people described in today’s Bible passage reveals darkness, sorrow, evil, and sadness among other things. Without light, there’s darkness, chaos, confusion, suffering, and uncertainty. However, at the dawn of light, there’s orderliness. Most importantly, the light of Jesus Christ brings peace, love, solutions, and unending joy to the life of any one who accept Him.

The first point of call for God at the beginning was to create light and when Adam fell in the Garden of Eden, God sent His only begotten son‚ Jesus Christ as Light into this darkened world. Amidst the disasters, chaos, killings and wanton destructions, Jesus Christ shines His light into our hearts. By extension, when we accept Him as our personal Lord and Saviour, we become light bearers, drawing men unto God (Matthew 5:14).

Furthermore, we are empowered by God through His word and the Holy Spirit because God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). In what area are you yoked? Are you suffering from and burdened with cares of life? Or is the world of darkness tormenting you in your home, marriage, work, and city? Arise today and call on the name of Jesus Christ because the Almighty God saves and the Jesus has come to destroy the works of the devil.

Action Point: Arise and call unto God today concerning your life.

Daily Confession: I declare the light of Christ Jesus to dispel every darkness in my life in Jesus name.

Intercessory prayer: Let the light of Jesus Christ shine across my city, province/state and my country in Jesus name.
