Healing the Source

Then he went to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive” 2 Kings 2:21 (NIV)

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 2:19-22

Apparently, the city of Jericho was strategically positioned, full of persons who loved, cared and catered to their community. The city had strong and able-bodied men and women willing to utilize the resources of the land for productive ventures. However, they were handicapped, unproductive, and struggled to survive because the water from the city was bitter. I decree that any bitterness in your life is erased today and replaced with joy and laughter in Jesus’ name. Due to this predicament that the land suffered, citizens, visitors, and dwellers could not cultivate the land, rear animals, and exchange products. Nothing to exchange because the land did not yield any good produce. Water is essential to life and our survival depends on water. In the bid to make their water portable, the people of the city of Jericho called on Prophet Elisha to help them. They sent an envoy to him, presented their water problem, and requested his assistance. What steps are you taking to address the challenges you are facing? Stop folding your arms. Enough of giving excuses, think and work on ways to address your challenges. Prophet Elisha through the inspiration of the Spirit of God purified the source of the water with salt. First, God is interested in you and His help awaits you. Only you have to call on Him. Also, share your burden with the right people, and solutions might be waiting for you even in unexpected places. God is Almighty, powerful, and miraculous. He is able to address your needs through the people around you. Secondly, purification is important, thus the blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin and makes us whole. Embracing the work of Christ Jesus at the cross of Calvary gives us access to his cleansing. Dear friends, there might be bitterness everywhere but God wants to season the lives of His children so that we can be solutions to the challenges of others. In fact, as a child of God, you are the salt of the earth (Matthew 6:13-16). God calls you today so that He can make you whole.
