Faith Dares – Walking with God

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, the just and upright shall live by faith. Romans 1:17 AMP

Bible Reading: Matthew 14:22-33

The Christian journey starts with faith in Christ Jesus and continues by faith till the end. No wonder Apostle Paul writes: I have fought a good fight of faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Our walk with God is a walk of faith— daily trusting, believing, and learning from God. The only work required of us is to believe in Christ Jesus (John 6:28-29). As we grow, our faith capacity increases because without faith, it is impossible to please God: for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrew 11:6). Those that walked closely with God in the Bible had faith in Him from beginning till the end. We received access to the saving grace by faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Living a victorious life in Christ Jesus requires faith.

Apostle Peter, in our reading today, started his walk on water by faith, but immediately he focused on the storm, his attention left Jesus, and he started sinking. Like Peter, our walk with God will pass through different times and seasons. However, we are to continually fix our gaze on Jesus because He is the author and the finisher of our faith (Hebrew 12:1-2). God is not interested in anyone who draws back from trusting Him because no double-minded person will receive anything from God (Hebrew 10:35-39; James 1:7). Here’s the point: Faith that dares starts, continues and ends in Christ Jesus. It is not for a time or a season; rather, it steadfastly beholds Jesus regardless of how easy or challenging the journey may be. Dear friends, build up your most holy faith through the word, fasting and prayer, and deeds (Romans 10:17; Matthew 4; Isaiah 40:29-31). God bless you.

Daily Confession: I decree that my faith rises today from every distraction in Jesus’ name.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for an encounter with Jesus for your friends and families who have yet to believe and receive the gift of salvation.

Hymn: Only trust him, only trust him, only trust Him now.

He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.
