Faith Dares – Grace

For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflects spiritual maturity] in this present age. Titus 2:11-12 (AMP)

Bible Reading: Titus 2:11-14

I love God’s grace. First, without grace, we would not have been redeemed and freed from the power of sin and darkness. It was grace, the abundant grace of God, that gave us new life through and in Christ Jesus. We now have liberty and life in Christ Jesus. Secondly, the same grace that brought us salvation has appeared to all men, and it teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:11). Thus, God’s grace saves and sustains till the end even as joint heirs with Christ. We are products of God’s grace!

God’s grace is not a call unto irresponsibility or indiscipline. Apostle Paul asked, “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” He replied, “By no means! because we died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” (Romans 6:1-2). Grace is not an excuse to continue in sin. God’s grace has the capacity to help us live for Christ alone, that is, a life of holiness and righteousness. When we access God’s grace by faith, we can break away from every hold of sin through the power of God. The Holy Spirit also empowers us to live above sin and shame. We discipline ourselves to embrace God’s grace when we meditate on God’s word, pray, constantly rely on the Holy Spirit, and say no to sins that easily beset us. Thus, faith that dares understands that we are saved by grace so no one can boast. Such faith recognizes that God’s grace is capable of sustaining us till the end as we work out our salvation in fear and trembling (Philippians 2:14). Because God gives grace to the humble, it means that we need to recognize our inabilities and embrace God’s ability to help us. Dear friends, have you humbly embraced God’s grace that has been given to you in Christ Jesus for salvation and godliness?

Action Point: Pray to God for His grace concerning the area of your life where you are struggling with sin.

Daily Confession: Lord Jesus, I embrace your grace today for life and godliness through the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I escape the lust of this world and continually live to please You in Jesus’ name.

Intercessory prayer: Choose someone you know needs the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Song: Grace, grace, God’s grace

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within

Grace, grace, God’s grace

Grace that is greater than all our sins.
