The Season Beyond This Season

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually‚ regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age. Matthew 2:19-29 AMP

Bible Reading: Luke 2:1-20

The reason for the season is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The virgin Mary was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit; although Joseph was betrothed to Mary, he agreed to the will of God after God confirmed it to him in a dream. Mary gave birth to the child in a manger because there was no more room for them at the inn; the shepherd saw and followed the star to worship Him. To abort Jesus’s destiny, king Herod massacred babies under the age of two years that lived in and around Bethlehem. Little did Herod know that the kingdom Jesus reigns over is an everlasting throne, and nothing could stop Jesus. Despite the trials, temptations, and evil, Jesus grew to fulfill His mission here on earth: to save his people from their sins.

After the Christmas season, I encourage you to share the glad tidings of Jesus Christ and continue to live in that pleases God. We have been called into the ministry of reconciliation. This means that Jesus’ command, “Go ye into the world and preach the gospel,” should be lived out daily. Dear friends, share the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus daily.

Self-Reflection: Jesus Christ is the reason for this season and for every season.

Action Point: Share the gospel message with someone today.

Daily Confession: Lord help me to continually live a life committed to spreading the gospel of Christ Jesus, amen.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for anyone who needs the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Hymn: Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

Let earth receive her King;

Let every heart prepare Him room,

And Heaven and nature sing,

And Heaven and nature sing,

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
