At Your Word (II)

He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death. (Psalm 107:20)

Bible Reading: Joshua 3
Show me anyone who works by the instance of God’s word, and I will show you a person full of faith. Faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). Our generation needs to return to work from and according to God’s word. This means we must feast on and continually gaze upon God’s word because we cannot be guided by what we do not know. We must make God’s instruction to Joshua ours, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8, NKJV). In our Bible reading today, Joshua prepared the children of Israel to meet the Lord and receive instructions from Him. Joshua learnt from Moses that you don’t make any move except by the word of God so it was important to position himself and the Israelites to hear expressly from the Lord. When God speaks, you know you can trust Him because His word is yes and amen. His word gives us peace and directs us. Dear friends, I understand times are busy, but we also live in turbulent times and need God’s word to survive. I encourage you to make God’s word your companion so you can go forth in His word every day.
Self-Reflection: When was the last time you deliberately studied God’s word without any external push?
Daily Confession: Lord help me to actively seek your word to guide my life in Jesus’ name.
Intercessory prayer: I pray for unction, wisdom and anointing for the leaders in my church in Jesus’ name
Hymn: Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
