“Abide in Me”: Why Is It Important? (V)
If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you“. (John 15:6-7, NIV).
Bible Reading: John 15:1-11
For the past few days, we have been considering the importance of abiding in Jesus. Today we will consider the last point. There are both earthly and eternal implications for abiding. In our memory verses, Jesus highlights earthly and eternal consequences whether we choose or refuse to abide in Him. “If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ” (John 15:6-7). Dear friends, Jesus is not interested in anyone perishing, hence he is calling everyone unto Himself. I encourage you to choose to abide, obey and walk in His will.
Daily Confession: I receive the grace to abide in You, Jesus.
Intercessory Prayer: Pray for peace between our nations.
Hymn: Stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
