The Father’s Will
And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:39-40, KJV)
Bible Reading: John 6:35-40
Jesus is coming back again! It is the Father’s will that anyone who believes in His Son, Jesus Christ, receives everlasting life and reigns with Him in eternity. Jesus boldly speaks of the Father’s will in our Bible reading today. Eternity is real, and the Second Coming of Jesus will happen. The Father has given us His Son, Jesus Christ, the bread of life and whosoever comes to him shall never be hungry. Jesus is also the water of life, and whoever believes in Him shall never thirst (John 4:14). In essence, the Father’s will is for us to believe in Jesus Christ, who is the One the Father has sent. Whosoever believeth in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus (John 14:6). The Father’s will is for us to embrace everlasting life through Jesus Christ. The Father’s will is for us to reign with Him in eternity. If you have given your life to Jesus, congratulations! If you are yet to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, today is not too late because if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you want to accept Jesus today, say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I confess my sins and believe you in my heart that you came to die for a sinner like me. Thank you for the gift of salvation in Jesus’ name.
Daily Confession: God, I thank you because you love me, and it is Your will that I reign with you in eternity. Help me to continue to follow Jesus all the days of my life. Amen
Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s intervention, mercy and peace in Nigeria as the country heads to the poll.
Hymn: Holy God, we praise thy name.
God of all, we bow before thee.
All on earth your sceptre claim;
all in heav’n above adore thee.
Infinite thy vast domain,
everlasting is thy reign.
