That I May Know Him (I)
[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. (Ephesians 1:17, AMP)
Bible Reading: 2 Peter 1:3-11
The quality of your knowledge will determine the quality of your life. What you know and who you know are crucial to life and destiny. If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then your eternity is secured. What you know of Christ is important. Beyond knowing about Christ, it is important you know who Christ is and His provision for you. The Bible says those who “know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploit” (Daniel 11:32b). You have to know Christ and the hope He has called you into. Some Christians do not know God’s promises concerning them in the Bible. Apostle Paul’s prayer in our memory verse today is one of the profound prayers he prayed for the church Ephesians thus: “And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people)” (Ephesians 1:18, AMP). Dear friends, make a decision to pursue Jesus and learn of Him in His word. Seek to know Jesus for yourself and your life will never remain the same.
Daily Confession: “[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people)”
Intercessory prayer: Pray for the nation of Turkey for God’s intervention, provision and God’s mercy. May this situation draw people to Jesus, amen.
Hymn: Knowing you Jesus,
Knowing You
There is no greater thing
You’re my all, You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness,
And I love You, Lord.
