Praise Him even in the Storm
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:34, NIV)
Bible Reading: Isaiah 43:1-7
In 2005, Casting Crowns, the renowned contemporary Christian and Christian rock band, sang a song, Praise You in This Storm. The writers wrote: “… And I’ll praise You in this storm. And I will lift my hands. For You are who You are. No matter where I am. And every tear I’ve cried. You hold in Your hand. You never left my side. And though my heart is torn. I will praise You in this storm”. Life is full of ups and downs no wonder the Bible says “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:34b). In fact, storms will come and go because they are part of life’s journey and God gives us an assurance that He will be there (Isaiah 43:1). Notice from our Bible reading today that God did not say ‘if’, rather it reads ‘when you pass through the waters… through the rivers… when you walk through fire…’ He will be there. God assures us of His presence. He will abide with us and give us peace that passes all understanding. Dear friends, I don’t know what you are passing through but God promises to be with you. This is why you should praise Him even in that storm because He is with you and He will see you through. Fear no evil even when you pass through the shadow of death because God is with you. Let praise rise from your inside. Sing beautiful songs unto the Lord from the depth of your heart because He is still God and He will make a way where there seems to be no way for you.
Action Point: Sing songs and hymns unto the Lord today.
Intercessory prayer: Thank God for hearing prayers over our nations, individuals, families and the situations we have prayed for in the past.
Song: … And I’ll praise You in this storm.
And I will lift my hands.
For You are who You are.
No matter where I am.
And every tear I’ve cried.
You hold in Your hand.
You never left my side.
And though my heart is torn.
I will praise You in this storm.
