Stay In There… (III)
As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. Where can I find him to come and stand before him? (Psalm 42:1-2, TLB)
Bible Reading: Daniel 1
If there’s ever a time we need to tarry in God’s presence, it is now. If there’s ever a time we need God, it is now. In fact, we need to focus on cultivating continuous fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Like the Psalmist, our heart cry has to be one and only one thing, “my soul pants after you, oh God” (Psalm 46:). There are so many distractions in the world today. Many things are fighting for our attention, and most times, by the time we are done with the day, we are tired and exhausted. Despite the busyness of our world, we have to learn to spend quality time with our Maker.
Daniel understood the importance of staying in God’s presence. He knew that accessing the secret of the kingdom requires first cultivating a relationship with God. He called his friends who were with him in the kingdom of Babylon, and they sought the Lord. In my opinion, they became God-seekers, and through their unrelenting and faithfulness to their relationship with God, God was able to commit unto them the secrets of the kingdom. Through them, the name of the Lord was raised. Dear friends, the challenge you have is that you have been going through life dry— without taking time to be refreshed and revived by the Lord. In fact, you lack the strength and courage to address issues in your life because you have been disconnected from your source, which is Jesus Christ. God has provided everything you need for nourishment, and you have to only create time to engage them. For instance, you need time to study God’s word because God’s word cannot dwell in you richly if you don’t study or meditate on it. The Holy Spirit cannot pour Himself into you if you don’t learn to walk with Him. I encourage you to stay in God’s presence. Don’t be in a hurry to leave.
Action Point: Spend extra time seeking the Lord today.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for the authorities piloting the affairs of your children’s schools (such as school boards, school districts etc) for righteousness to prevail. Pray for wisdom to make godly decisions so that your children can be trained in the way of the Lord.
Hymn: Wait for the Lord, whose day is near.
Wait for the Lord: be strong, take heart!
