Arise and Shine (I)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Bible Reading: Isaiah 60:1-3
Our Bible reading today is not a suggestion or a recommendation. It is a command, “Arise and shine”. This command shows God’s expectation of His children. In the midst of darkness, God wants us to shine. This is because God’s light has shone upon us. As Christians, we have accepted and received Jesus in our lives and allow the Holy Spirit to find full expression in our hearts. This means we have what it takes to fulfill God’s command. There is so much darkness in the world today, and only Jesus can bring light into the darkness. Jesus wants us to shine for the world to see Him in and through us. We are to be Jesus’ hands, legs, mouth etc., and we have to align with His word. Dear friends, if you have given your life to Jesus, this command is for you, and I encourage you to start fulfilling this command. If you are yet to accept Jesus into your life, this is an opportunity. Accept that you are a sinner and that Christ came to die for you. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, confess and forsake your sinful ways. God bless you.
Daily Confession: According to God’s word, I arise and shine in every aspect of my life in Jesus’ name, amen.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for any who serve as a mentor in your life for God’s wisdom and blessings.
Hymn: This little light of mine.
