Let there be Revival (I)

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Matthew 16:24-25 ESV

 Bible Reading: Exodus 33:12-17

In our weekly house fellowship, God has been raising a constant burden about revival in our hearts. We understand that the cry for revival has been a constant burden in history, however, this has become so personal that we have been dedicating our time whenever solely to pray for God’s revival across the nations specifically, in the city where we live. We sense that God is about to rain His revival on His people and He has released the spirit of supplication upon us to pray for this move. Our teachings have been focusing on what revival entails, how we can partner with God in His sovereignty when His revival comes. For the next few days, I invite us to share some thoughts on revival.

Revival means restoration of life that has been lost. It means resuscitation, recovery and renewal into a new life. It means restoring and reconciling man back to God through Jesus Christ because that is why He came to die for the sins of the world. Revival starts from an individual to the church of God. There is a need to understand that revival means turning multitude to God. It is a spiritual process that involves surrendering unto Jesus Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit work in and through us. It means a sincere passion and hunger for God, righteousness, holiness and rest in Christ‚’s saving grace. God is sovereign and He decides when to bring forth revival, however, we can choose to align with God’s agenda and be prepared so that we can be His vessel ready to do His biddings. Revival cannot start until Jesus Christ is made the centre of our focus solely.

Our heart cry is Maranatha! O Lord, Come!

Self-Reflection: Are you consumed in love for self or love for God?

Daily Confession: Lord Jesus help me to take You as the Center of my life. That I may love You with the whole of my life. Rid me of myself and the love for self and cause me to focus on You in Jesus name, amen.

Hymn:  Come, Thou Almighty King,

Help us Thy name to sing,

              Help us to praise:

              Father, all glorious

              O’er all victorious,

              Come and reign over us,

              Ancient of Days.
