Let there be Revival (IV)

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 16:24-25 ESV

 Bible Reading: Exodus 33:12-17

The desire and prayer for revival should first be a concern for God’s glory, His honour and His name. Also, revival is a concern for the church of God. Revival should be God-centered rather than self-gratifying. Moses’ encounter with God in the Tent of Meeting shows a desperate hunger for God’s Presence and revival for genuine reasons. Moses desired nothing but God’s Presence and His glory because that is only how the world can see the difference in him. May our hearts genuinely pant after God as the deer pants for the water brooks (Psalm 42:1-2).

Another concern of Moses was about the heathens who are outside. When God sends His revival and His people submit themselves to be used by God, it will show to the heathen the extent of God’s power. Here’s what Moses said: For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? Is it not that thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth‚(vs 16).

Dear friends, are these your motives when you pray for God’s revival and His Presence? When our light shines before men, then they see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). May our hunger for the lost move us to our kneels to pray and our mouth to speak of the Good News of Christ Jesus. After all, what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Mark 8:36).

Self-Reflection: Revival should be God-centred rather than self-gratifying.

Action Point: Pray for revival and evangelize about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Daily Confession: Thy kingdom come Oh Lord and Thy will be done on earth in the name of Jesus. I choose to align with God’s move and purpose in this end time. Amen

Hymn: When the pow’r of God descended

             On the day of Pentecost

All the days of waiting ended

             They received the Holy Ghost.
