The Miracle of Sight: Watch What You Say
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Malachi 3:16 KJV
Bible Reading: Malachi 3:16-19
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, the Bible says. To fear God is to honour, obey, and seek Him wholeheartedly. God works in miraculous ways if a man’s way pleases the Lord. For instance, God will make his enemies to be at peace with Him. I think of Daniel in the lion’s den.
Apart from the wisdom that comes from fearing God, you enjoy another reality if you fear God. God listens to our heartfelt conversation even when we talk to each other, He hears it and opens a book of remembrance. This means that we can’t afford evil utterances to come out of our mouths. Rather, we are to speak life. Some think that it’s only when we pray that God hears us. Absolutely, God hears when we pray. However, according to this passage, He hears even when we are speaking to one another as God’s children. Dear friends, watch your tongue. Let life flow out of your tongue, and focus on Jesus. Most importantly, fear God and honour him.
Self-Reflection: What have you been saying about yourself and others lately?
Daily Confession: Lord, circumcise my heart and my mouth for your glory.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s peace across nations.
Hymn: We have an anchor that keeps the soul
steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
