The Miracle of Sight: Add Charity
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8 [NIV]
Bible Reading: I Corinthians 13
For the past few days we have been reflecting on Apostle Peter’s instruction for Christians to add some virtues to our faith. These virtues will help us to be fruitfulness in our knowledge of God and to see far. The last virtue Apostle Peter admonished us to add to our faith is love. God is love. In our Bible reading today, Apostle Paul outlines what love is. Love is the ability to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit. Love is the fulfilment of the law. Jesus Christ is our perfect example– gave His life willingly for the redemption of our lives. Love gives and love builds up. Love wants the best and seek the best for others. Therefore, the debt we are to owe is the debt of love. Let God’s love flow in and through you. Love when it is easy or when it is difficult. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in you because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us (Romans 5:5).
Daily Confession: Lord fill my heart with Your love in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s peace across nations, in your city, state/province and your country.
Hymn: We have an anchor that keeps the soul
steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
