Do you Know Who You are (I)

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27, KJV)

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 1

We are starting a new series on identity. Identity is key in and to life and destiny. The level of one’s knowledge about one’s identity will determine many things. For instance, if someone believe they are poor, no matter the abundance that surrounds them, they will still live in poverty because their mindset is that of scarcity. One of the miracles the Holy Spirit performs in convicting us unto repentance is to convince us to see our true identity in Christ Jesus (as God intended from creation) so that we can receive the gift of salvation that will make to live in the reality of our identity in Christ. Then as we grow in our walk with God, He opens the eyes of our understanding (through His word) to the truth of who we are in Him. You have to know who you are in Christ Jesus “for His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” (2 Peter 1:3, AMP). In fact, every first encounter with God in the Bible started from identity (such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Gideon, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Mary). Dear friends, did you know that who ever the son sets free is free indeed? Did you know you are a child of God if you have committed your life to Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? Did you know God is your Father and He loves you unconditionally? This means God’s love for you is not based on what you did or what you did not do. You are loved by God. Period.

Daily Confession: God thank you because you love me.

Action Point: Read and meditate on Jeremiah 1:5

Intercessory Prayer: We pray for anyone facing identity crisis around us to encounter Jesus

Hymn: Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch; like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.
