The Bold Faith

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24, KJV

Bible Reading: Mark 9:14-25

The bold faith believes in that the Father loves His creation so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins (John 3:16). A bold faith believes in the death and resurrection of Jesus and in the Promise of the Father, which is the Holy Spirit. It is a faith that is rooted in the infallible word of God with the deep understanding that whatever we ask according to the will of the Father it shall be granted. Such faith is rooted in God’s word because faith comes by hearing, by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus encountered a man who cried for help whose son needed healing. Jesus’ disciples tried everything they knew but nothing happened. Jesus arrived and the story changed. The conversation between the man and Jesus got to a point when Jesus said to him “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” and immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:23-24). Jesus commanded the evil spirit to come out and the boy was delivered. The man was humble to admit his unbelief and he repented. I imagined he had tried everything for the healing of his son to no avail. Perhaps he started on a high note hoping for healing but as days turned to weeks, weeks to months and months to years, and he lost hope. He cried out to Jesus to fan the flame of his faith again. And Jesus proved Himself. He strengthened his faith by healing the man’s son. The bold faith believes in God and is quick to admit its unbelief, and repent from it in order to receive God’s help. Dear friends, what are you trusting God for and it seems nothing is happening. I encourage you to genuinely call unto God today.

Action Point: If you have given up on something because you prayed without response yet, I encourage you to return to God, repent of your unbelief and pray about it.

Daily Confession: I receive grace to pray through in Jesus’ name.

Intercessory prayer: I pray for renewal of faith and hope for anyone who may have given up on life and on faith.

Hymn: Oh, how praying rests the weary!

Prayer will change the night to day.

So, when life gets dark and dreary,

Don’t forget to pray
