Press the Start Button (III)
Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility] (Philippians 2:5, AMP)
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:5-11
It is high time you press the start button for the fruit of the spirit to manifest in your life. The fruit of the spirit does not fall upon us; rather, we have to sincerely invest in our spirit by spending quality time fellowshipping with God and obeying God as He leads us. In our reading today, Jesus, our perfect example, is revealed to us. Apostle Paul admonishes us to have the mind of Christ. Jesus lived a humble life. He left everything in heaven and came on earth to redeem humanity. Within the context of the theme of our reflection for the past few days, Apostle Paul encourages us to press the start button of humility. Let Christ’s mind and attitude be in you. It is never too late to start a life of humility. Although Jesus had the nature of God, he did not think that by force, he should try to remain equal with God. Rather, “he freely gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness. He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death– his death on the cross.” (Philippians 2:6-8). Dear friends, let humility begin to show in your life.
Daily Confession: I receive the grace to be humble in my life in Jesus Christ.
Intercessory Prayer: Lord, we pray for peace across different nations where there is turmoil in Jesus’ name.
Hymn: Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
