God Is Able

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21, AMP

Bible Reading: Exodus 14

The Bible is full of miracles— God’s intervention in the human condition through the supernatural. From the book of Genesis to Revelation, each story shows God’s love through His manifest power, regardless of the situation. Our Bible reading is an example of such supernatural and miraculous intervention from God. At the end, the encounter and experience points us to God as a Father who cares deeply about us. The parting of the Red Sea is an example of God’s display of His power for the sake of His children. The children of Israel have been requesting for a time to leave Egypt to worship God. It is a way of saying that they want their freedom from slavery in Egypt. Different signs and wonders have already been displayed but Pharaoh won’t bulge. Finally, he granted the children of Israel the permission to worship their God. Afterwards, it was as if he returned to his senses and decided to pursue the Israelites so that they could return to Egypt.

God showed his power— His ability to do. He protected the Israelites and parted the Red Sea for the Israelites. What should our attitude and response be with this understanding of God is able? First, we are to focus on God not the miracle, draw closer to Him and partner with Him to do the miraculous. Secondly, God’s ability should strengthen our faith in Him, take Him at His word, and finally appreciate God for His powerful intervention in the midst of His creation. Dear friends, God is able to do beyond what you can ask or imagine because He is God. Do you truly believe?

Daily Confession: Lord I submit to Your Lordship over my life and I ask you to intervene in my life in Jesus name.

Intercessory prayers: I pray for God to unite families who have been away from one another due to one situation or another by His mercy and intervention.

Hymn: God is able to do just what He says He will do

He’s gonna fulfil every promise to me

Don’t give up on God, cause He won’t give up on you

He’s able.
