A Fresh Start
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the a Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. (Genesis 17:1, KVJ)
Bible Reading: Genesis 17
What a mighty God we serve! He gives another chance regardless of your mistake because He is merciful. He leaves our mistakes behind and gives us grace to move forward in Him in genuine repentance and trust in Him. In today’s Bible reading, God appeared to Abram after twenty-five years of being relationship and instructed him to walk perfectly and blamelessly. Abram first encountered God at age seventy-five  and God commanded him to leave his father’s house and go a land he will show him and Abram obeyed (Genesis 12). Many events have taken place in Abram’s life at this time of encounter (Genesis 15). For instance, Abram had moved out of the land of Haran with his wife, Lot and everything he owned. He has also sojourned in Egypt where he lied about his wife, Sarai and he had slept with Haggai at the advise of his wife in order to have a son. Abram had make mistakes at this point of his life but God returned to Abram to extend His mercy and grace. Dear friends, as we start a new month, no matter the areas you have missed it or failed God, God’s arm is wide open to show you His love again. He wants you to start afresh and allow His Spirit to dwell in you. Take the opportunity for a fresh start that God is extending to you start and experience His love. Like Abram whom God changed his name to Abraham in this new encounter, God is asking you to walk before Him and be perfect. Let your only passion and desire be to know Him more. Seek God diligently and deliberately than ever. God bless you in this new month.
