A Heart of Worship (VI)
‘…Sing a new song unto the Lord’ (Psalm 98:1)
Bible Reading: Psalm 98:1-9
Yesterday we emphasized that the flesh must be put to death by the power of the Cross. This is the only way we can be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto the Lord.
Today, I would like to talk about the obvious when it comes to worship, the outward practice of worship as expressed in music. The effectiveness of the outward worship is a function of the inner walk with God. Music is a form of expression, in fact the psalmist encourages us to sing a new song unto the Lord, make a joyful noise unto the Lord, clap and play instruments of music etc.
The outward expression of worship should be deeply rooted in a life that’s devoted, surrendered and sold out to God. This is when worship is not a lip service or a mere exercise but a service that is acceptable unto God.
Daily Confession: I choose to worship in spirit and in truth. I will praise the Lord at all time and His praise shall always be on my lips.
Intercessory prayer: Continue to pray that the big God who is the great Physician will swallow the virus in victory.
Action point: sing a sing unto the Lord.
