“Abide in Me”: Concluding thoughts
When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, every hidden and secret thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, AMP)
Bible Reading: John 15:11
For the past few days, we have been focusing on the series, Abide in Me. We read Jesus’ instruction to abide in Him. To abide is to remain in Him. It involves spending time with God’s words, praying and obeying Him. We reflected on the various importance of abiding in Jesus. As we wrap up this series, I would like to reiterate that abiding in Jesus is a deliberate choice that would require some sacrifices. It will involve denying oneself, carrying one’s cross and following Jesus daily. There are different examples in the Bible who abide in Jesus — Moses, David, Mary, Paul, and Jesus’ disciples who later turned apostles. Dear friends, make this year a year you will abide in Jesus wholeheartedly and every day. God bless you as you choose to focus on Jesus and learn of Him daily.
Daily Confession: I receive the grace to abide in You, Jesus.
Intercessory Prayer: Pray for peace between our nations.
Hymn: Stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
