“Abide in Me”: Why It is Important? (IV)
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, AMP)
Bible Reading: Matthew 25:14-30
Did you know there are degrees of fruit-bearing in Christ? Yes, there are levels of growth and fruit-bearing. The extent of the fruit you bear depends on many things including your capacity. Like the parable of the Talents in our Bible reading today, some have one talent, some three talents and another five talents. Whatever degree we are, it is important to maximize growth. In John 15, Jesus made it clear that the more we abide in Him, the more we bring forth richer and fine fruit, “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit” (John 15:5b). There is a need to speak the truth as Christians that the deeper we go in God, the more we become like Him, and the more His presence and power we carry. For instance, someone who spends one minute praying to God every day cannot be compared with someone who spends at least an hour daily in prayer. How long we abide in God’s word will determine how far we will go. It will determine how well we will resemble Him in thoughts, words, and deeds. Dear friends, if you want to bring forth richer and fine fruit, then I encourage you to abide in Jesus.

Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
