Count your Blessings

“Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name! Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits, Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases”

Psalms 103: 1-3

Bible Reading: Psalms 103

Bless the Lord always oh my soul. It is very easy as humans to see flaws, imperfections more easily than great attributes of things. We then cast our eyes on things to be corrected rather than showing appreciation for the little job well done on all the puzzles.

King David knew his many victories were not his skillfulness or that of his men or dynamic strategies but God’s mighty help. What are you thankful for?

My year 2022 was unstable as water and had its numerous ups and downs. I was tired of everything, lost a loved one, no source of financial aid through school, I had to work long hours for a pay which could not help but I had no choice, I was terribly ill, had an accident…the list is quite long

But God has been so good in those moments, looking closely I didn’t lose my life, I got a job whilst someone out there was unemployed, I got better after taking some home remedies while some people never got the opportunity to travel down to the clinic by giving up the ghost. When you tend to see the positive side of the story, you would know there are a billion square reasons to thank God for.

Self reflection: What are you grateful for? Are you counting your problems or the numerous blessings of life?

Daily Confession: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for the numerous miracles and blessings you have brought my way. Help me see the positive side of everything so I praise you always. Amen

Hymn: When upon life’s billow you’re tempest tossed

When you’re discouraged thinking all is lost

             Count your many blessings,

             name them one by one.

             And it will surprise you,

            what the Lord hath done.
