Do Not Be Discouraged (V)

And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong. (1 Peter 5:10, WNT)

Bible Reading: Exodus 4

The encounter between God and Moses shows that God qualifies whoever He calls. Moses’ protest and reasoning was valid. He knew his past atrocities and history which made him ran away from Egypt. In fact, looking at the condition of the Israelites, Moses knew they would ask many questions and unbelief would be one of the challenge he would have to overcome. This is because the people have questioned if the God of their father. If the God of their Father exist, why would they be in bondage in Egypt? Did he not hear them crying and calling for rescue? He also knew that the slavery experience had conditioned their mindset, hence God’s supernatural power was needed to break the existing pattern. Contrary to what many believe, Moses in confidence interacted with God. Yes, he was afraid of the given task, however, he wasn’t afraid of engaging with God. God saw a man who understood the length, breadth, width and depth of the assignment and gave Moses all the support and grace He needed to make the assignment successful. God equipped Moses with the supernatural power, human capital (as seen in Aaron who became his spokesperson), and unmatchable charisma (confidence, strength, toughness, perseverance and wisdom). Dear friends, whatever the assignment God is calling you into, remember he qualifies whoever He calls and He is the giver of all grace. Call unto Him and you will never remain the same again.

Daily Confession: Lord, encounter my life in Jesus’ name.

Intercessory prayer: We pray for healing, grace and deliverance for communities passing through collective grief in Jesus’ name.

Hymn: Lord, lift me up and let me stand,

By faith, on Heaven’s table land,

A higher plane than I have found;

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
