End of Year Reflection and Evaluation (IV)
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6
Bible Reading: James 1:5-6
Another aspect to consider is your finances. Many people (Christians and non-Christians) lack the knowledge to make their finances work. Consider your annual income, expenses, and savings, in reflecting on this area. Are you ending the year in surplus, deficit or at equilibrium? Did you take on any investment this year? What’s your spending habit like? As Christians, we are stewards of any resource God gives us; thus, how much did you invest in God’s work? How faithful were you with your tithes and offering?
Like our Bible reading today, knowledge is a requisite for preservation. If you need more knowledge in the area of finance, you can make 2023 a year of acquiring some knowledge that will help you thrive in your finances. We all know that inflation is everywhere– regardless of the country or economic system you are in, how can you mitigate unnecessary deficit? Do you do budgeting and stick to it? How much debt do you have? Do you need to consolidate your debt so that you are not servicing multiple debts? Perhaps one stream of income is not enough. Do you need an additional stream(s) of income? Can you turn your hobbies into something that can generate income?
Dear friends, take the time to examine this as seriously as you examine other aspects of your life. If you need help, sign up for free courses online so that you can learn and take good care of your finances. God bless you!
Daily Confession: Lord teach me to number my days that I may gain a heart of wisdom in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s protection over as many who will have to travel during this end of the year.
Hymn: Ancient words ever true
Changing me and changing you
We have come with open heart
Oh let the Ancient Word impart
