Focus on God and Growth: Lessons from Daniel (II)
So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands (Psalms 78:72, NKJV)
Bible Reading: Daniel 1
Daniel was a man of high spiritual and moral standards. He was a man of integrity and skills. If governments worldwide could have Daniel’s on their cabinets, the world would be   better.
Daniel gave himself unto discipline. He was interested in knowing God, and he sought after God with the whole of his heart. Daniel was given unto the right doctrine, prayer and the word. As the Lord promoted him, he never backed out of the spiritual activities that built him. His knees were always bent unto the Lord. Daniel’s life teaches us that focusing on God and Growth is costly — a price which can be paid through a partnership with the Holy Spirit (Philippians 2:13; 4:13). We have to count the cost and cheerfully pay the price (Luke 14:28-30). Also, he teaches us to build our lives around the sure doctrine of the word of God, prayer, righteousness and holiness, faith and diligence. Daniel is the epitome of today’s memory verse because he cared for the people with a true heart and guided them with skillful hands. Dear friends, Daniel took his faith into his daily administrative duties. I hope we can learn from his life.
Daily Confession: Lord Jesus I receive the grace to partner with the Holy Spirit to grow in every aspect of my life.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for wisdom for parents to raise their kids in the way of the Lord. Pray that kids will choose obedience and godly counsel.
Hymn: I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
‘Lord, plant my feet on higher ground’
