Fruitful and Faithful (III)
Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. Romans 13:14 (NIV)
Bible Reading: 2 Peter 1:2-9
To conclude the series on Fruitful and Faithful, I would like to emphasize that to be fruitful is to be faithful because God commands His children to be fruitful. To produce fruits that is truthful to the nature of Christ is to be who God wants you to be. For you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:14-16). Producing fruit of righteousness means living the life that pleases God privately and publicly. It means understanding that ‘nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this email, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that name the the name of Christ depart from iniquity’ (2 Timothy 2:19). To be fruitful will require a lot of growing up and discipline. As children of God, it will need us to trust God and stay connected to Him daily. Also, it will require giving our lives unto Him and allowing flesh to die daily. Apostle Peter writes: ‘According as his divine power hath given unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust’ (2 Peter 1:3-4).
Finally, one of the fruits that pleases God is repentance. Dear friends, you can turn to Jesus today regardless of the fruits you have been producing. God can turn your life around for His glory. Turn to Jesus today and experience God’s agape love and through you He can express His love.
Daily Confession: And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9-11).
Intercessory prayer: Pray for your pastor for grace to stand and for God’s grace
Hymn: Ancient words ever true
