God Cannot Fail You (I)
I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:5c.
Bible Reading: Joshua 1
Joshua took over the leadership reins after the death of Moses. God instructed Joshua to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. Joshua was obviously afraid to lead the people of Israel because he had witnessed the rebellion, disobedience, unbelief and unrighteousness of the Israelites. As an assistant to Moses, Joshua had seen how the people murmured against God, shouted at and bullied Moses in the wilderness, and how their action provoked Moses to act in a way that resulted in him not entering the Promised Land. Joshua was afraid and the responsibility to lead a stiff-necked people looked impossible. God knew Joshua’s fear but He has also seen his faith as one of the spies sent to Canaan. Only Joshua and Caleb returned with words of faith and encouragement (Number 13). God also knew that Joshua’s constant fellowship in the tent would not be in vain. So God assured Joshua of His Presence and remarkable success. He also gave Joshua the recipe for success in Joshua 1:8.
One of the promises God gave Joshua was that He (God) will never fail nor forsake Joshua. And this was true throughout the entire live of Joshua as he led the people of Israel. God always showed up for Joshua except when the people disobeyed. Anytime Joshua prayed, God listened, guided him and gave His people victory. Dear friend, like Joshua, God is assuring you that He will never fail you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid of what tomorrow holds. Rather look unto Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:1). If you are yet to know Jesus, this is another opportunity because God’s promise is for His children.
Daily Confession: Lord I believe your word that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to remember your promises at all time in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for healing for those that are sick.
Song: He can never ever fail (x3)
Jesus the same forever.
