God of Perfection

The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8

Bible Reading: Isa. 60:20-22

God is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the perfect Finisher who does not start what He cannot finish. Reading through the pages of the Bible, we see God promised to visit individuals, groups and a whole nation with His blessings and either instantly or years later, He does whatever He has promised. This is the same with humanity’s redemption. He initiated the process of redemption right from the beginning (in the Book of Genesis). The revelation reaches its culmination with the fulfilment of our redemption in Jesus Christ (in the Book of Matthew). This makes Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith who, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross (Hebrew 12:2). Dear friends, God has the ability and the resources to do anything because, with God, nothing is impossible.  The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:4). The only limitation is you and me.

It takes God’s integrity to see to the fulfillment of His promises; whatever He says, He can and will accomplish because God honours His word above His name. Today, God’s word is coming to you that He will perfect, complete, end, perform, and accomplish that which concerns your marriage, job, relationship, spiritual life, health, academics, and all areas of your life. Why will God perfect that which concerns you? The answer is in the next statement; “thy mercy, O Lord endureth forever.” This can be translated as God’s faithfulness endures forever. I am so glad I have a heavenly Father who is faithful, truthful and merciful. He is committed to His words. He has good thoughts toward me, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give me a future and hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Daily Confession: Lord, I thank you because I can depend on you. Please show me your mercy. Reverse every unpleasant situation for my good.

Intercessory prayer: I pray for blessings upon families during this season of Christmas. I pray for individuals to be touched and for lives to be transformed in my neighbourhood and city in Jesus’ name.

Hymn: All they who put their trust in God

Can never be removed;

They stand firm like Zion’s mount

By many ages proved.
