The Rule of Engagement

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.        Matthew 6:33

Every game has rules. The rules are protocols to engage or play the game. Failure to know the rules may negate efforts to be victorious regardless of how skillful and talented a competitor in a race.

In the context of our walk with God,  intimacy with God is the first and most important. And every other thing emanates from that. This is why Jesus says ‘seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added to you’ (Matthew 6:33). It starts with accepting Jesus’ gift of salvation and redemption. This sets us up for an everlasting life journey in Jesus. It is a translation from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Here’s the order: everything should flow out of your relationship with God. For instance, your ministry has to be a product of your relationship with God. Dear friends, spend quality time with God.

Action Point: Take your daily devotion seriously. Daily study God’s word and pray.

Intercession prayers: Lord we pray for advancement of your kingdom in territories that oppose the gospel of Jesus.
