God Reigns
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”. Psalm 24:1
Bible Reading: 2 Kings 6:25-33; 7.
Regardless of the atrocities happening in the world, God is in control. The world maybe sick— and many hearts maybe wounded but God’s healing touch can change the situation forever because God is sovereign. He is the sole Proprietor of the entire universe, He knows you by name, He knows your thought and He knows the end from the beginning. We have to discern and engage spiritual intelligence because whatever maybe happening in and around us want to distract us from the Almighty God.
Our Bible reading today is about prophet Elisha as He engaged the creative power of prophesy to deliver his country, Samaria. There was a severe famine in Samaria to the point that some people were eating there children. Famine among many things brings calamities, hardship, different social vices, and inhumane lifestyles which result in poverty and desperate negative acts. When the king heard of the evil acts some of his country people have taken on due to the famine, he tore his clothe and remembered Elisha the prophet of God. Out of frustration, the king sent assassins to behead Elisha. Prophet Elisha responded by prophesying abundance to the land. Because God rules in the affairs of men, God worked out every detail and the miracle unfolded in the eyes of everyone in the city expect an officer who did not believe. Dear friends, no matter the condition the world maybe in, and regardless of what’s happening in your world, know that God is in-charge. Only look unto Him because your help can only come from Him (Psalm 121).
Daily Confession: Because the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof, I declare God’s authority over my circumstance in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Pray that God’s abundance will locate people and families that are in need of help in every aspect of their life.
Hymn: “Look and live”, my brother, live
Look to Jesus now and live.
‘Tis recorded in His Word, Halleluyah!
It is only that you “look and live.”
