God Satisfies

“When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.” Psalms 145:16 NLT

 Bible Reading: Psalms 145:8-9

I am so excited that we do not have to look unto anyone for satisfaction because God satisfies our needs. We have an awesome God who provides all that we need and when we need it. Even when He uses people, situations and systems to meet our needs, we have to understand that He works in different ways and everything for His glory.

In our reading today, there’s a vivid description of what God does. When God opens His hands, He satisfies the hunger and thirst of every living thing. Praise be to God for satisfying physical needs and hunger. He heals, saves, provides, keeps and directs etc. No wonder he said “He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust”(Matthew 5:45). He satisfies our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s(Psalms 103:5). Did you know that God supplies our needs according to His riches in glory? What’s your need today? Present it to God and He will satisfy your need.

Moreover, there is a deep hunger that God satisfies- it is a spiritual hunger and thirst. God is our Father who is compassionate and loving. The Creator knows that He created man for fellowship and relationship and when man lost it in the Garden of Eden, He had prepared the redemption plan because He does not want anyone to perish. Thus, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our iniquity. Jesus Christ redeemed us from destruction. For as many that received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God to those who believe in His name  (John 1:12).

When we live in constant obedience to God‚’s dictate (John 14:15), live a righteous life and in the wisdom of God, we are satisfied beyond words. There is joy unspeakable and a fragrance of glory that manifests in our lives. For instance, the Bible says that the righteous is as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). May God teach us to find satisfaction in Him. There is a need to learn to look unto God to satisfy our needs. May our trust be anchored on Jesus Christ who is the author and the finisher of our faith.

Self-Reflection: Dear friends, did you know the greatest form of satisfaction comes as a result of your walk with God?

Daily Confession: Father, I put my trust in you, let me never be ashamed in Jesus name.

Hymn: I am so glad that our Father in heaven

             Tells of His love in the Book He has given;

             Wonderful things in the Bible I see:

             This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.
