God’s Book of Remembrance
Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. Malachi 3:16
Bible Reading: Malachi 3:16-18
God has a book of remembrance. Men also have a book of remembrance where they note the events that occur in their lives and the people that acted in it. By book of remembrance, I am not referring to a book where you keep memories of the wrongs that have been done unto you. As children of God, when we give our lives to Christ, the Bible says God has blotted out all handwritings of ordinances that were against us and he has nailed it to the cross, Col. 2:14.
According to today’s Bible passage, God’s book of remembrance is kept for those that fear the Lord and those who think upon his name. God listens to our conversations with fellow believers, be it in the place of prayer for one another or the words of encouragement we share with each other. The Psalmist says that God’s eyes are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto heir cry, Psalm 34:15. Hence, to belong to the category of those whose names are written in this book of remembrance, these conditions must be fulfilled; fearing God and thinking upon (honouring) his name. For sinners, God’s face is against them and he will cut off their remembrance from the earth, Psalm 34:16. Let us be wise and be in the company of those who fear the Lord and honour His name. God’s promise to those whose names are in His book of remembrance is that they will forever belong to him and he will spare them from evil.
Daily Confession: Father, help me to fear you and honour your name everyday f my life.
Intercessory prayer: Pray that the fear of God will be in our children and children’s children in Jesus name.

consecrated, Lord, to thee.
