God’s Presence (V)

He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. (Psalm 103:7, AMP)

Bible Reading: Philippians 3:10-12

Our memory verse highlights two key aspects in our walk with God, ways and acts. Like we noted yesterday, God’s acts stands for God’s expression of His mercy in our lives as shown through the miracles of provision, protection, healing, favour, grace and wisdom etc. Indeed, God rules in the affairs of men and when He steps in, everything responds to Him (Daniel 4:17). While God’s acts to His children are important, giving ourselves to God so that He can make His ways known to us is more important. God’s way stands for a revelation of who God is, and His pattern. It refers to a deeper knowledge of God. It means to know God intimately; to know His modus operandi, to be His friend, to know His do’s and don’ts, counsel and precepts. Like Moses (as we read in Exodus 33), Apostle Paul prayed to intimately know God, God’s resurrection power, and the fellowship associated with suffering for the sake of God’s kingdom. God granted His request (2 Timothy 4:6-8). Dear friends, we have to seek to know God’s ways– deliberately and fervently. May we be people who are desperate to know God not for what He will give us but for who He is. Seek the Lord. Spend quality time in studying, meditating and doing God’s word. Fast and pray. Pray without ceasing. Obey God’s instructions. There is no one who genuinely seek to know God’s ways who will not be shown because “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled” (Mathew 5:6).

Action Point: Set time aside to genuinely seek God for who He is. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

Intercessory Prayer: We pray for God’s mighty act to showforth in your family, household, friends, colleagues, working place, city, and church in Jesus name.

Hymn: Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch; like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.
