History Made, History Changed
“And she [Mary] shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:2 KJV
Bible Reading: Matthew 26:47-75
It is another time of the year when we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. As written of Him in the volume of the Book, Jesus Christ came to this world to redeem us, “And she [Mary] shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:21 KJV. It all happened in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve [the first man and woman] were deceived of the devil and they disobeyed God. They ate the forbidden fruit and this brought a spiritual apathy/separation between Man and God (Genesis 3). Nothing meets God unprepared. Right from the beginning, He started the redemption plan, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” Genesis 3:15 KJV . From one generation to another, God was writing the upper story of salvation. He was creating the pathway to bring His son, Jesus “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” Colossians 1:13-14 KJV.
Dear friends, Jesus’ death and resurrection for our redemption changed the course of human existence because man was restored and reconciled unto God. Through the blood of Jesus, we have remission and forgiveness of our sin because without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. If the devil knew what the implication of his action would be, he wouldn’t have moved Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus. As we commemorate the Easter season again, it is important we remind ourselves the reason for the season and invite as many that are yet to know Jesus Christ to come and taste and see that the Lord is good. Perhaps you are yet to give your life to Christ, this is an opportunity, “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:9-10 KJV.
Daily Confession: I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. I acknowledge, confess and forsake my sins. Jesus come into my heart and abide.
Intercessory prayer: Pray that the gospel of Jesus will continue to expand in our hearts and across the nations of the world.
Hymn: My faith looks up to thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine, now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.
